Former Lorain County pitching standout Andy Oliver of Vermilion High School in Ohio will make his Major League Baseball debut on Friday, June 25, 2010 when the Detroit Tigers visit the Atlanta Braves..Oliver, who attended Oklahoma State University, was drafted by the Tigers last year and was pitching at Class AA Erie SeaWolves when he got the call up..The southpaw was 6-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 14 starts with the SeaWolves and averaged almost a strikeout per inning..Oliver, who was coached by the Sailors' Jeff Keck, had a career ERA under one and went 6-0 with an 0.40 ERA in his senior season - along with 108 strikeouts in 52 innings.
